Eugenia was cut off by her boyfriend, she lost her job, her roomie left and her dog escaped. Now she has a plan: Reinvent herself and recover what was lost.
"Taking inspiration from screenlife films like Searching..., the Mexican comedy Entra en mi vida attempts to bring this format—where the action is captured by computer or phone cameras—into the realm of romantic comedy. The plot follows Eugenia (Paulina Goto), a young woman who, after ending an engagement, is determined to reinvent herself as a social media influencer, dragging her best friend (Ximena Sariñana) and other characters into her mission to gain followers by completing challenges, attending events, and more. Due to its experimentation with the format, the film falls into visual excesses and a lack of narrative clarity (beyond her desire for followers, there’s not much reason to sympathize with the protagonist, nor does she seem to have a clear goal all the way through), making its brief runtime of one hour and 20 minutes feel longer. However, it may catch your attention for its experimental approach, and you might enjoy it ironically."
