We could call 'E.T.: The Extraterrestrial' a masterpiece, for its story, editing, soundtrack, and the excellent child cast including Drew Barrymore's debut on the big screen - she was seven years old at the time. This production is from an era in which movies used real backgrounds, puppets, and props to create stories - after all, special effects weren't so sophisticated - which gives it a certain charm for today's audiences."
